Alternative Digital Techniques

One-day workshop at The Julia Dean Photo Workshops

During this fun and explorative half-day workshop, students will be introduced to a number of alternative digital techniques including: digital pinhole photography, image capture through use of the scanner as camera, digital Lensbaby and digital capture through a medium format film camera viewfinder.  The day will begin with technical “how to” lectures regarding each alternative digital technique.  We will also view and discuss images produced by contemporary photographers using alternative digital means to produce successful bodies of work.  During the second half of our workshop students will have the opportunity to produce images using a variety of the alternative techniques presented.  Equipment will be provided for student experimentation.  However, students are encouraged to bring any “alternative” equipment they have questions about or would like to use.
